Et Tu
by J. Allen Wilson

A brief respite in which to write, yet I still sojourn on... |
What has cast this spell upon me? And pray tell me of its name, For want of hope doth suffice as a messenger of this silent pain. For I wallow in self pity, I embrace sorrows bondage, I wrap myself in its damning chains And unto death I give homage. What to this shall I say? And what of this can I do? For the desolation Of my separation Hast spoiled This weary heart. Thus now casting eerie shadows of dubious self doubt. As boundaries of crooked emotions Sail with ease upon the dying sea. Forever, oh forever drifting apart. Yet…for Et Tu There is the pain, Yet not the sameFor even you in your gallant bravado Realize, The power Of sorrows bondage and its damning chains. J.
